Pressing on Amid Hostility
Times realized, cities lying in ruin, we
inquire. Amid hate, destruction, and
violence, we tire. Boasters and
blasphemers ruling, they devour.
Challenging righteousness, despisers
ravage in power. Tearing down pillars
of truth, they march to overpower.
Lovers of pleasure with forms of
godliness, they preach. Without
self-control, they stand headstrong in
pursuit. Slanders, lovers of
themselves, they preach to destroy.
Traitors and unthankful for what's
right, they blaspheme. Creating
whirlwinds of destruction, they scheme.
In their way, righteous ones stand
in durability. Though perilous times
abound, we seek divine ability. Trust
put in Christ’s sufficiency, we
personify. Enduring hardship, we
press on, exemplifying. Anointing
filling, we press forward rectifying.
In times like this, we put on the
Lord’s garments. Putting on
gentleness, patience, and peace, we
abound. In wisdom and truth, we
boldly proclaim to those ensnared. In
humility, correcting those opposing, we
preach to teach. Released, many come
to their senses, as we beseech.
You therefore must endure hardship
as
a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
