Always There, Devotional Poetry, Biblical Poems

Biblical Poetry
Early in 2017, I felt prompted by the Lord to start writing Biblically oriented poetry that is intended to encourage, build faith and draw believers into more of a love for God's Word. This is something I've never attempted before, but felt very drawn to it by the Lord. In obedience to Him, I have sensed a whole new realm of God's grace as I have begun to write in this way. I hope you enjoy them.
You are Always There
By Ken L Birks

Like a dragnet I was caught in a web of false illusions.

You were there to stop me in my tracks, in spite of my delusions.

As I cried out in mental anguish, you were there to unravel.

Your patience and loving kindness have overwhelmed my soul.

You have taught me to trust in the One who is always there to untangle.

My thoughts turn to You in the quiet of the night.

As I put my trust in You, faith and confidence fill my heart with might.

I am thankful for your guidance and faithfulness throughout the day.

You were there when my thoughts tended to stray.

As a loving Father, You were there when I was unfaithful.

As Your eye is on the sparrow, so it is with me in all that You enable.

The enemy comes to steal and destroy what has been given.

You were there in the midst of the turmoil and anxiety he induced.

Even though he plundered, You provided from Your earthen treasures.

In the quiet of the night I am reminded of your provision.

Surprised, I stand in awe and wonder of how you produced.

Your provision was more abundant than anything I could imagine.

In your faithfulness I will continually trust in your measures.

I give thanks to the Father above who looks upon His children.

You are always there watching over your children with such tenderness.

I am blessed beyond measure because of your benevolence.

Because You are always there, I am forever grateful for Your indulgence.

You will never leave me nor forsake me. You are always there.

This poem expresses the faithfulness of God always being there for us.
