Biblical Poetry
Early in 2017, I felt prompted by the Lord to start writing Biblically oriented poetry that is intended to encourage, build faith and draw believers into more of a love for God's Word. This is something I've never attempted before, but felt very drawn to it by the Lord. In obedience to Him, I have sensed a whole new realm of God's grace as I have begun to write in this way. I hope you enjoy them.

  Standing at the Crossroads
By Ken L. Birks

Deep in my spirit, filled with unrest, I question.

What is it that brings such anxiety and apprehension?

The voice within says be still and know.

Trust in Me and I will show you where to sow.

How many times have I revealed my part?

I will never leave you nor forsake you.

Be at peace as I test your heart.

Turbulence comes as one season parts and another starts

Be still and know as I reveal a new season filled with purpose.

Standing at the crossroads, I discipline my soul to trust.

Be quiet soul and listen to the gentle whisperings of the Master

As I wait on Him who delights in filling the soul, I sense peace.

Peace returns as anxiety and unrest now cease.

At the crossroads, I delight in His presence with contentment.

As He holds me in the warmth of His presence, my soul exults.

Who is this who speaks with such gentleness and consults.

It is He who says, “Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened
and I will give you rest.”

Philippians 4:6-7 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God: and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds through a Christ Jesus.

This poem expresess the importance of staying in God's presence when we are in periods of transition..
