Spiritual
Authority from on High
By Kenneth L.
Birks
With flashes
of lightning, the Lord speaks from on
high.
With
tremendous authority, He thunders with
power and might.
Standing in
awe, we fear and tremble at the sound of
His voice.
Held in fear
and awe to all, we ascribe to His glory,
so bright.
Calling us to
draw nigh to such authority, we question
His voice.
He reminds
us, He’s near to the humble and contrite
of heart.
From blood
slain, He invites to approach with
boldness.
Welcoming
with open arms, He invites us to dine in
intimacy.
Covering us
with His robe, we stand in His presence,
set apart.
As newness
washes over, we gain footing with a new
heart.
Obedience to
His Word, the way is shown, so
commanding.
Though His
thoughts are higher, we gain new
understanding.
Renewed in
our minds, He washes as we sense His
cleansing.
Discovering
peaceable thoughts, He gives hope and
expectation.
With
boldness, we approach and ask for
anything with conviction.
Like flashes
of lightning, we convey revelation and
insight.
As He
cleanses and renews, divine nature
becomes our birthright.
His Word
sharp as a two-edged sword, thoughts are
discerned.
With
authority given, He takes away all
unbelief and doubt.
In quietness,
His gentle voice instructs for the new
route.
Giving
praise, we link to Him who has authority
and acclaim.
Giving thanks
for being counted worthy, we bear His
Name.
Recorded in
His book, He writes His name on our
temple.
With His name
recorded, He daily loads with blessings,
happily.
Whole-heartedly given to Him, we become
part of His family.
Advancing in
faith, we courageously face the unknown.
Filled with
purposeful vision, we go, embracing His
throne.
With peace
and joy filling, we embrace His grace,
now shown.
With hearts
full, we ascribe Him praise, glorifying
His name.
Walking in
authority extended, we embrace His works
shown.
