Come
and Drink
By Kenneth L.
Birks
Called to
drink freely, we come awakened from
slumber.
Freely
drinking, we're refreshed and given to
surrender.
From the
wells of salvation, we proclaim
blessings.
Calling
others to come, they come filled with
wonder.
Touching
their pain, healing splashes without
fanfare.
As splashes
of living water touch, their flesh
tingles.
As tingles of
joy wash over, fear vanishes for want of
more.
Stepping
closer to those splashing, with joy,
hearts engage.
Joining those
surrendered to living water, fear
dissipates.
Drinking
deeply from the well, the Father
vindicates.
From the
wells of salvation, living water pours
freely.
Touched in a
new ways never thought possible, they
ponder.
With minds
renewed, old thoughts and ways cease to
grow.
As peace
floods, overfilled with joy, they no
longer wander.
Filled from
the purity of the well, hope and newness
flow.
With living
water flowing freely, they continue to
drink.
Splashing
others, as they were once splashed, they
rejoice.
With the same
cry once heard, they cry, “Come and
drink!”
With joy
flooding, they see others touched with
service.
Going forth
splashing everywhere, they’re filled
with purpose.

May God
bless you richly, today, as you seek to
find all that’s been hidden away for
your personal discovery.
