Committed to God's Purposes
One of the keys to living a victorious
Christian life is to remain committed to
God’s purposes throughout our sojourn
here on earth. It takes hearts fully
committed to His purposes to keep the
oil of His Holy Spirit continually
flowing into our lives. Whatever
our station in life is, God has called
us according to His purpose and grace.
Whether we are full-time ministers,
workers in the marketplace, homemakers,
construction workers, migrant workers,
police, firefighters, librarians,
students, blue-collar workers, or
professionals, we are all called to work
out His purpose in our lives.
2 Timothy 1:9 who
has saved us and called us with a holy
calling, not according to our works, but
according to His own purpose and grace
which was given to us in Christ Jesus
before time began.
Three of
the principles and commands God gave in
His word that help us to stay fully
committed to His divine purposes on
earth are as follows:
Believing in the Promises of God
Just as Abraham believed in the
promises of God, and it was accounted
unto him as righteousness, so must we.
Hearts fully committed to God and his
purposes must believe He will perform on
their behalf as He’s promised. As seen
below, when we believe God for His
promises, it produces His glory working
in us as vessels unto honor.
2 Corinthians 1:20 For
all the promises of God in Him are Yes,
and in Him Amen, to the glory of God
through us.
When we believe
in the promises of God and His ability
to perform on our behalf, we can move
forward with passion, enthusiasm, and
zeal as we fulfill His word.
What are the promises of God you need to
believe in for God to work on your
behalf today? Spend some time today
meditating on them as you go about your
day.
Presenting Ourselves as Living
Sacrifices
Presenting
ourselves as sacrifices mean our overall
lifestyle will be an example of dying to
self daily by taking up the cross of
Christ.
Romans 12:1
I beseech you, therefore, brethren, by
the mercies of God, that you present
your bodies a living sacrifice, holy
acceptable to God, which is your
reasonable service.
What is
on your path today that demands
sacrifice? Be willing to embrace the
cross of Christ, even though it may not
be somewhat comfortable.
Not Entangled with Worldly Affairs
Because we’re in this world but not
of it, we will be touched by worldly
things in one degree or another. They
become snares to us when they interfere
with our passion and calling.
2 Timothy 2:4
YNo one engaged in warfare
entangles himself with the affairs of
this life that he may please him who
enlisted him as a soldier.
As people with a passion and desire to
be a part of all God is doing, we can’t
afford to be tainted by the world. As
soldiers of this vast army,
As you ponder how these three principles
fit into your daily life, ask the Lord
to give you wisdom and strength to obey
Him in all things as you go forth as His
kingdom ambassadors.
