Living a Vibrant Spirit-Filled
Life
What kind of Christian do you desire to
be? Do you have a hunger and a thirst
for more of what God has to offer, or
are you satisfied with where you are in
your relationship to Jesus Christ? Do
you want a life empowered by the Holy
Spirit to live a vibrant, Spirit-filled
life? If so, this is something God has
promised all believers in Jesus Christ.
He has promised us an abundant life in
which rivers of living water flow, as
seen in the promise below.
John
7:37-39 On that last day, that
great day of the feast, Jesus stood and
cried out saying, “If anyone thirsts,
let him come to Me and drink. 38 He who
believes in Me, as the Scripture has
said, out of his heart will flow rivers
of living water.
When
Jesus ascended into heaven after His
death, burial, and resurrection, He was
glorified as the Father gave all
authority to Him. Following His
ascension into heaven, He released the
Holy Spirit to be poured out on all
flesh, just as Peter preached on the day
when the feast of Pentecost was fully
fulfilled.
Now Jesus is
continually crying out for our souls to
come and drink from the fountain of
living waters so that we will
continually experience the refreshment
that causes us to have vibrant
Spirit-filled lives filled with Holy
Spirit’s empowerment.
Following
the early disciples' baptism in the Holy
Spirit, Peter said in his message, "This
same promise is to all who believe." -
Acts 2:39
As you can see, it is
God’s will and desire for all of us who
have been born again to live full and
vibrant lives. He desires to give us a
life empowered by the Holy Spirit to
meet all the needs and demands that life
has a way of throwing at us. He wants to
fill our hearts with spiritual
revelation that fills our hungry souls,
so that we can taste all that He has to
offer us. In doing do, He gives us an
insatiable appetite to continually seek
Him for more of what not only sustains
but empowers us to do all that He calls
us to do.
Ephesians
1:17 that the God of our Lord Jesus
Christ, the Father of glory, may give to
you the spirit of wisdom and revelation
in the knowledge of Him, 18 the eyes of
your understanding being enlightened;
that you may know what is the hope of
His calling, what are the riches of the
glory of His inheritance in the saints,
19 and what is the exceeding greatness
of His power toward us who believe,
according to the working of His mighty
power.
The above
passage of Scripture mentions several
things that enable us to stay vibrant
and energized in the Lord. All we must
do is keep drinking from the fountain of
living waters, just as Jesus told the
woman at the well.
