Sensory Overload
In a world
filled with sensory overload, we relate.
Seeking to captivate, Satan comes to
overload senses. With media, and
other sources, he exalts himself above
God. Master of his domain, daily
through all means, he saturates. In a
maze of propensities, opinions, and
maxims, we walk.
In a world lying
under Satan’s sway, he easily leads
astray. In a world gone wrong, how do
we stay the narrow way? With sensory
overload, how do we resist the world’s
squeeze? Ears tuned to the Holy
Spirit and God’s Holy word; we trust.
With the Word and Spirit, we go
forward without disgust.
As
kingdom values takes hold, we come under
Its influence. Under the sway of
Jesus, worldliness loses dominance.
Yielded to God’s ways, vision fills with
fervency and zeal. With hearts set
above, sensory overload loses its
appeal. As bondage to the world
disintegrates, freedom appears.
Vision restored; the mind fills with
kingdom perceptions. No longer
captivated, weight lifted, without
weariness, we run. Passion ignited,
in zeal and fervency, we reach for new
sights. Free to mount up on eagle
wings, we soar to new heights. Senses
renewed; fresh winds blow with a spirit
of newness
Do not love the world or the things
in the world. If anyone loves the
world, the love of the Father is not
in him. For all that is in the
world—the lust of the flesh, the
lust of the eyes, and the pride of
life—is not of the Father but is of
the world. And the world is passing
away, and the lust of it; but he who
does the will of God abides forever.
